Cheesy twists

General

Can be made the day before, if kept in an air tight container.

Ingredients

Procedure

  1. Take the puff pastry squares from the package and allow them to thaw out for 5 minutes or so
  2. Preheat the oven to 210 celcius
  3. Coat half of puff pastry squares with beaten egg
  4. Sprinkle thyme over those same half the pastry squares, then the parmesan
  5. Put the other pastry squares on top of the first ones, pressing lightly (you do not want to squash the layers of butter inside the puff pastry square)
  6. Cut every pastry sandwich into 2 cm strips.
  7. Holding both ends, twist the strip in opposite directions, so they become a bit spirally. It does not have to be perfect.
  8. Bake immediately, for 10-15 minutes, until golden and puffy. If you leave them out too long, they won't rise.
