Ingredients
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 small hot chiles, seeded and chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon dark rum
- 1 teaspoon sugar, or natural sweetener
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Procedure
- Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until well blended. Transfer the mixture to saucepan and heat to boiling.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly.
