Golden milk
Golden milk is a traditional Indian drink with roots in Ayurveda. In the base this recipe is a mixture of hot milk and ground turmeric. Golden milk is popular for its health benefits, due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened milk or almond milk (or soy milk or oat milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder or vanilla essence
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or chopped fresh ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ – 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- sweetener of choice
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes to let the flavours meld.
- Pour the golden milk into a cup and enjoy.
