Ingredients
- 2 tomatoes, quartered
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
- 1/2 fresh cilantro (or frozen)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of salt, plus more for seasoning
- 500 gram stewing beef. The cheapest cut of beef, what we use for "stoofvlees" in the Netherlands.
Procedure
- In a high bowl, combine the tomatoes, onion, garlic, and cilantro. Blitz until pureed, adding a bit of water if necessary.
- Add the cumin, coriander, garam masala, cayenne and salt. Bliz again briefly
- Saute the beef cubes for a couple of minutes in the Instant pot.
- Add the vegetable puree and lock
- Select manual and set the pressure to HIGH. Cook for 20 minutes, natural relase
- Remove the lid and stir. Taste and adjust, adding more salt if you like.
- Serve wiht naan or rice, and perhaps some raita1.
